Hello! I’m Steph. My journey into creating Mother Blessing ceremonies started with a very personal story and turned into something I now share with many women.
It all began when my best friend was pregnant. I wanted to do something truly special for her, something that went beyond the usual baby shower. Inspired by the beautiful tradition of Blessingway ceremonies, I put together something unique for her. It was a heartfelt day that left everyone, including her mom and mother-in-law, deeply moved. They shared how meaningful it was and wished they had experienced something similar when they were expecting. That day, I saw the power of bringing women together to support one another.
This experience was even more profound as I was right there when she gave birth at home. I was amazed by her strength and saw how important it is to have supportive people around during such a transformative time. We even held a small ceremony to welcome her baby when she was past her due date.
When I unexpectedly became pregnant myself, I was thrilled but it was also a tough time. I dealt with a lot of old grief and felt quite alone as I prepared for birth. I knew I didn’t want a typical baby shower. I didn’t need more baby stuff; I needed support and love from people close to me.
Remembering the ceremony I’d created for my friend, I asked another wonderful friend and my doula to help organize my own Blessingway online. It was incredibly moving. I was surrounded by love and encouragement, and it made me feel seen and strong. That’s when I knew I wanted every pregnant woman to have the chance to feel this supported.
That’s why I started Mother Wild Roots Here, we focus on making every mother feel loved and supported as they step into motherhood. It’s not just about giving physical gifts; it’s about giving strength and community. It’s about making sure no mother feels alone on this journey. Motherhood is a path best walked with friends and loved ones by your side, and I’m here to help make that happen.
